I'm still here...and so are they...

A few days off of blogging is a necessary thing. I spoke with a friend here in town who does a great photo blog, and he says he tries NOT to post more than 2 or 3 times a week, that people don't want to hear more than that from anyone. And I feel remiss if I don't post five or six times a week. Takes all kinds, I guess. My question is: How often do you look at a blog?

Or, for that matter, a website? Above is the logo for the Bee's new nightlife website, SacLights.com, which should launch sometime in early December from what I hear. The funny thing is, even people in the Bee's entertainment department don't know anything about it - but then, keeping employees in the dark is a Bee specialty. Still: Who's writing this thing?

And who came up with the tagline? "Places to Go. People to Do." DADDY LIKE! But seriously, I would have been shouted down if I'd suggested such a RISQUE slogan (and I would have). So, who's in charge over there? This can't be Scene management!

Just stumbled across your blog...and read a couple months worth of posts! Good stuff.

If a blogger's voice is constant and compelling, I will read a site daily, sometimes two or 3 times a day. But as a sometimes blogger, I only post when inspiration strikes and when my day job hasn't sapped all my energy. So kudos on posting thoughtful and engaging pieces several times a week!

I say post as much as you want, as long as you don't feel obligated or uninspired.

There are some sites I check daily and there are others I check when I am in need of some inspiration.

For me, a blog is a personal thing. I am not blogging for anyone else except for myself. It is my therapy. My assignment to myself is to post every single day. I fail a lot. But I try.

I post that often David, because my life happens every day. You can call it a journal you can call it a diary. It is simply an exploration of thought in the hope I may understand my own life and photography one day.

I've never expected anyone to read what I have to say. But I am grateful for the insightful discussions some readers have offered up.

My take on the whole blog thing ... if you have something to say, then say it. If not then go find some inspiration that day.

Talk to you later bro.

Since I'm not in the 18-34 demo the new site is supposed to draw, perhaps I don't see the "People To Do" as anything but cheesy and embarrassing for The Bee. There are better, edgier, more creative ways to say the same thing.
