I just stopped by the new Peet's Tea and Coffee at 20th and J in the MARRS Building, and poked my head in next door, where work is continuing on the new home of Newsbeat, the magazine store that has to this point occupied retail space across from Capitol Park on L Street, as well as in Davis.
But as of the first week in February, the shop, which carries the best selection of magazines and periodicals from around the country (and beyond), will make 20th Street its home. This fills the gap left by the closing of Tower Books on Broadway, and will help make midtown that much better-informed. I'm looking forward to it! Go visit their website to see if you might be, too.

You have been by the old Tower Books location and seen the Avid Reader (used to be next to Newsbeat), right?
